You may know Blake Lively as the infamous Serena van der Woodsen of the Upper East Side or the dynamic powerhouse that makes up one of Hollywood’s wittiest celeb couples, but in most recent years she has truly made a mark for herself with her impeccable fashion style wearing high end couture with unique accessories to match but then putting a fun spin on the look by wearing casual pieces like sneakers and jean jackets. She is no stranger to the public eye and is not afraid to show off her true self whether through the sarcastic banter with her husband on social media or owning every red carpet she steps foot on. & with the launch of her latest brand Betty Buzz, a non-alcoholic line of mixers designed to be enjoyed as is or with alcohol to complement her husband’s brand of Aviation Gin, we see Blake evolve from the glam and fame of Hollywood to join the marketing world by promoting her new brand. Regardless of the event or new project she is in, Blake makes sure to stand out in every room.
Blake’s style has evolved quite a bit as seen from her classic style like the baby blue Michael Kors crop top set worn to NYFW this spring to the stellar MET gala looks like this year’s custom Versace gown to match the event’s Gilded theme of fashion in America. Her MET gala gown payed tribute to New York City in a blue hue to honor the Statue of Liberty and gold details and designs that showcased the Grand Central Station architecture; also honoring her role as Serena in Gossip Girl arriving at Grand Central Station.
Blake often goes for stand out pieces including bright colors, glitter, sequins and gold and then embellishes by matching her nails and accessories to her on carpet look, like she did for her husband’s Free Guy premiere where she wore a sparkly pink Prabal Gurung gown with pink flowered nails to match, hair braided with silver accessories and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry highlighting the metallic details on her dress and completing the look with the classic white Converse sneakers. She picks these stunning gowns like the pastel colored Atelier Versace gown worn to the Adam Project premiere earlier this year, with a stack of bangle bracelets to match, hot pink Chanel clutch and rhinestone Gucci sandals and then wore a classic jean jacket to top off her look and as Vogue described “Blake & her jacket brought Couture down to earth”.
As much as her style can be quite impressive and playful down to the amount of suits worn to all the A Simple Favor movie premiers, it is the attention to detail that she puts into making sure that all her accessories match whether the jewelry she wears, the clutch or bag, and even her hair and nails complement the colors and themes or her look even to the point of the same sequins, flowers or designs used in all. Although many of us may not be walking down a red carpet anytime soon, why not replicate Blake Lively’s style and embellish the way we accessorize our daily outfits.
