Allow me to introduce myself...

Hi, I'm Ana! Ecuadorian born, east coast raised with hispanic and jewish roots. I am a bilingual digital creative with interests in fashion, food, sports and pop culture.

My interest in fashion, beauty and style comes from an early age of living in cosmopolitan cities and my short-lived career as a model for Escada as a toddler. I also had a short stint as a kid actor for a Catholic Charities ad campaign in Spanish.

I have experience developing creative concepts and marketing campaigns for various organizations on the east coast before moving out to Los Angeles to work for a small creative agency and beauty, fashion and fitness startups. I've also had the privilege of working for two historic presidential campaigns, Hillary for America 2016 and Biden for President 2020. In 2021 I was accepted into Adweek's Inaugural Rising Mentorship program which led me to my current role where I help manage the ad execution process for a media agency. In between meetings and in my spare time you can find me trying to find the balance between my love for coffee & fashion, by going on a hike with my dog Rocky, city seeing, at the beach or simply with my head in the clouds capturing every sunset.

I am always looking to connect with other fellow creatives, fashion-minded individuals and anyone with a fascinating story or movement! So please reach out, happy to connect or work together on any digital projects!

My Story

I was born in Quito, Ecuador to an Ecuadorian of Spanish & Chinese descent mother and Jewish-American, California born, New York city bred father; this makes up a big part of who I am and how I was raised culturally. I grew up in Guayaquil, Ecuador, but our family moved to Ankara, Turkey for a few years as my father spent those years teaching at an international school, I learned Turkish faster than my parents in order to help them negotiate sales on Ataturk Boulevard. My father's work also led us to spend a rainy summer in Cambridge, England where my mother and I spent all of our free time frequenting the Natural Science museum, eating beef stews and pot pies, and shopping at Marks & Spencer.

Before I started middle school, we moved to the states, landing in Baltimore, MD where I spent the rest of my adolescence complaining about the humid summers, spending all summer at the pool, and rushing off to Handel and church choirs every weekend. For undergrad, I attended a small liberal arts college, Washington College, on the beautiful eastern shore of MD, where extracurriculars included eating crabs, boating and riding horses. I studied abroad in Paris for a semester where I learned French while staying with a family, ate way too much bread, cheese and chocolate and toured several countries along the way. I graduated college with a degree in International Studies wanting to work for the United Nations but found my love for marketing after helping manage social media accounts at the Ecuadorian Consulate in DC.

I pursued a Master's in Emerging Media and completed several marketing and social media internships including Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign in Brooklyn. The election loss was a big blow, but nevertheless I persisted. I finished my master's at Loyola University in Baltimore while managing my program's social media and editing articles, completing a social media campaign for a small museum as a case study for my capstone, helping manage social media for a National Geographic photographer and Swedish author, and promoting youth programs for the American Heart Association in the DMV area. Soon after, I moved out to Los Angeles and worked with some influencers, new brands and creatives to help promote their social media. When the pandemic hit, I felt obliged to help fight for our democracy and went to work for the Biden campaign, helping create ads across battleground states, translating these ads myself to Spanish, in order to get people registered to vote and elect Joe Biden & Kamala Harris.

I recently completed Adweek's Rising Mentorship program, learning from some outstanding advertising and marketing professionals in my field. I am also on #MarketingTwitter to connect with other brilliant marketers, navigating all new and trending media and technology challenges. In my spare time I like to bake and cook @cookedbyal , run and play with my beloved dog @rocky.smodernlife , and maintain a blog for all my fashion and beauty needs and likes @rosegoldsunnies , in order to push myself to write some more and take more creative photos.
